Paaqavi INC is participating in Arizona Gives Day: April 7, 2026

A recent development in my own work is that I have accepted (somewhat reluctantly) the position of Board President for the Hopi non-profit, Paaqavi Incorporated.

It’s an entirely new role for me, but I am excited to pursue a different direction with this organization, and I hope to further facilitate many of the endeavors I am involved in. A high priority for me is to increase the number of Hopi/Pueblo/Indigenous people in the fields of Archaeology, Cultural Preservation and Education, as well as Outdoor Recreation and Tourism.

So, with that, Paaqavi Incorporated is happy to announce that we are participating in this year’s, Arizona Gives Day 2026! Click on the logo below to learn more about who we are and to make a donation in support of our efforts! Keep reading below as well!

What is Arizona Gives Day?

“Arizona Gives Day is an annual giving movement, uniting nonprofits, big and small, new and established, to celebrate and increase philanthropy in Arizona through online giving.

Arizona Gives provides a safe, secure, and easy way to give to one or multiple donations and provides a place for donors to track their giving. And we’re always available because AZGives.org accepts donations 365 days a year.”

Early giving has already started! Visit our AZ Gives Day page at: Paaqavi Inc AZ GIVES DAY

As a part of our campaign, we are fortunate to kick it off with a $10,000 Matching Donation from one of our generous supporters! So that means your contribution today, tomorrow and into the future will be doubled until we hit our match!

As we work to re-define Paaqavi INC, your contribution will be used towards building our internal capacity in Board Development and Strategic Planning, and will allow us to continue to serve as a Fiscal Sponsor for local community projects. We are also working to develop some of our own initiatives, among them is the creation of a Hopi Archaeology and Outdoor Guiding training program.

Skills & Knowledge areas of proposed training.

Currently we are seeking to raise at least $6,000 to facilitate the first training of its kind in 2026. In partnership with other organizations, we hope to provide opportunities for our own people to experience their ancestral landscapes across the Southwest.

We are also working to develop training and employment within the areas of Archaeology, Land Stewardship, Tourism and Outdoor Recreation. A donation of $500 helps us to sponsor one individual in these endeavors!

To donate, or for more information, you can visit our AZ Gives Day page, which offers more flexibility in payment services. You can also visit our webpage, paaqaviinc.org to donate, learn more about who we are, our past projects, and where we are headed into the future.

    Lyle,

Congratulations on becoming Board President! Excited for you. Starting with the NAU Guide Program and the years beyond that, you have helped me learn to love and appreciate the Hopi Culture. Now in Oregon, I’ve taking that passion and respect for native cultural and applying it the work in Natural Resources that I do with the tribes here. Good luck with the AZ Give Days campaign and keep up the amazing work!

Congratulations, Lyle. That’s a great mission and you will do well in that role. Laurie and I donated $200. Best of luck.
