Respect the Land You Stand Upon

Did I really say that?!? 😁 Why, yes indeed I did!

Back in 2020 (geez…) I was asked by the good people at Archaeology Southwest (Tucson, AZ) if I was interested in writing an introductory essay for the Archaeology Southwest Magazine.

I’ve written a few essays for this publication (and a new one forthcoming!), so I was both humbled and willing to contribute to the volume, which was focused on Archaeology Resource Crime (i.e. vandalism, looting, and all that bad energy crap).

It was a great experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to assist the organization.

So here we are, 5 years later, and my words are once again being put forth in the spirit of advocacy and protection of Indigenous history and presence.

Archaeology Southwest has launched a Bonfire fundraising campaing featuring a t-shirt with my phrase “Respect the Land You Stand Upon”.

It’s a simple gesture, but again, Im happy that I can continue to contribute to these endeavors.

Here is the Bonfire link BONFIRE Or you can visit the Archaeology Southwest social media pages or website.

And stay tuned as there is a new volume of the Archaeology Southwest Magazine currently in the final edits. This was a fun one to write about the Dogs of Hopi-land! 🐢

Your support helps make these educational opportunities possible!

Kwah-Kwah! Thanks Everyone!! πŸ€˜πŸΎπŸ–€
